Artist Statement

Maggie Jiang is interested in exploring visual duality and conflict, and works in a variety of media in two and three dimensional forms. She is interested in the relationship between predictability and chance in the process of art making. In her paintings, she investigates spatial contradictions and unexpected color relationships. She is also committed to integrating gesture mark making with hard edge geometry.
